More on Remembering Dad
I wish I had access to the photos between Dad and Mom's wedding and like 1978. Dad developed all those photos into slides and I don't have a copy of them. Of course if I had the photos I might never get around to adding them to the slide show but it's the thought that counts. I have been really struggling thinking about Dad and Mom's car accident, the drunk driver who hit them . . . the missed memories and that some of my children never met their Grandpa. I have so many great memories of Papa Bear. Singing around the campfire. Playing catch in the front yard. Dad faithfully sweeping our pool but hardly ever enjoying a swim. Cleaning the ice cream machine parts in the late night hours after Tastee Freeze closed. Dad manning the grill. Dad, watching Drew put in our raised garden saying "I love hard work, I love to watch it!" Dad and Mom coming when Mary was born, when Jacob was born, and when Abigail was born. Dad and Mom waiting for Renee's twins to be born. Dad watching the lock and dam up at Eagle Point Park. Reading stories to the kids. Morning newspapers - scramble puzzles. Bridge parties. Hot tub parties with Aunt Donna and Uncle Bill. Daily walks around the mile loop. Dad's gentle manner. His amazing knowledge and memory of facts - how many feet are in a mile, names and dates in history. Walks to the park after big meals. The rebuilding of "The Mirage" and her first launching. Countless road trips from FL to WI and MI in the Ford Van - Dad at the helm. His great story telling - shaking in my boots when the big bad wolf knocked on the little pigs door. SO SO many fond memories! Ah that was nice. SO SO SO many wonderful memories. Now I am ready to get back to the present reality of building memories with my six blessing.

PTL for good memories of your Dad. There are so many others who can't say anything like that about their Dad. What a blessing!
Lisa, THAT is so true. Huge blessing in all those wonderful memories. You and Scot are doing such an awesome job creating God honoring memories with Timmy!! Keep on keeping on.
I had no idea, so sorry for that tragic loss!
Thanks Tonya!
