Pizza, Chickens, Spring??

The snow was fun but I sure am thankful it is melting now : )

I love to have the kids help make pizza dough!!

I am so thankful the chickens are out in their coop in the garage (and it looks like it is staying warm enough for them in there, even if the outdoor temps have been COLD!!)

Birthday Recap

What a nice slow paced busy day if that makes any sense at all.  I played MasterMind with Chloe, and made my annual birthday cheesecake between turns. Kids played outside! With 42 degree temps it felt like a heat wave. Kids hung out inside or played piano.  I even got a short nap with an amazing wake up surprise; a harmonized rendition of "Happy Birthday" by the P. clan! To top it off Kristin stopped in for supper (she did receive and extremely last minute invite), which we all topped off with a walk before dessert. Icing on the cake was rocking Chloe to sleep (not to mention freshening up the chicken box after most of the children were settled in bed).  I am blessed!!

Abi and Kristin!

Here are the ladies waiting for me to help their home smell pleasant! : )

Naturally Curly Hair

Baby Chicks

Meet our new baby chicks!!

We are guessing our new friends are about 5 days old.

We are thankful Banjo has shown no signs of aggression! Could his nice behavior toward the chicks be in his blood? Havanese were bred to be poultry herders!

Subtle Hints/Meal Plans & Budgeting

One week and one day ago we went to see Drew's Grandmother. Before leaving my sweet husband suggested I bring cook books and make a menu as we drove. He said something to the affect of: remember when you used to have a menu plan and went shopping once a week.

Bring the cook books I did, I also ended up driving part of the way so only worked some on the menu. It was a good time to get the kids input, what they like, don't, etc. I just finished the menu plan tonight (something like Jan 6, when I started typing this post).  I am excited at the prospect of simplifying life by having a plan!  I have been flying by the seat of my pants since August and man has it had a negative effect on our budget.

(finishing the post tonight, Jan 18)
I have saved everything on google drive so if you want the link to my recipes and shopping lists leave a comment with your email and I will "share" them with you. Or mail me at borntwicedotregenerateatgmaildotcom.
